It is a thing for Europeans to do. We went there in 2009 around the same time of year (end of June/beginning of July). We slept in a tent, which made that experience of the sun never really setting even stranger.
I think I averaged about 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night that whole trip! It was wild to pass all the areas full of tents and RVs and campers still bustling at midnight...kids playing on the beaches...soaking it up!
Ah! What a journey!! I just love your photographic eye Jill and wow do these pictures make me want to go there. It looks like you had a wonderful time.. <3
Elyse! What a compliment coming from you, my friend. Thank you. And yes...I could happily spend the rest of my days in Norway. It was just wonderful. Can't wait to tell you more!
Reminds me of my trip to Norway and the Lofoten. It is a wonderful place on earth and the never setting sun is something I found really weird! 🙈
I haven’t met many people who have been to Lofoten! Yes, waking up in the middle of the night to full daylight was such a trip! When did you go?

You are getting very good with that camera, Jill. Excellent framing!!!
Aw, thanks Carolyn! I appreciate that! Finding a composition is so much easier for me than creating one in my art.
So stunning, Jill. Who knew vacation could bring a lesson on surrender. Absolutely LOVE it.
Ahh, it seems like so much of life is a lesson in surrender!! And the reminders always seem to come when we're least expecting them, huh?
Thanks for reading and following along, Mike. 🩵
